background
Natalie Baluyot started dog training at the young age of 10. As a child it was clear she had a natural bond with dogs. Thankful for a mother who supported her passion, she was always bringing dogs home to see how much she could teach them. Using buckets and sticks, hula hoops and PVC pipes she began building her own agility courses to practice her communication skills with dogs and continued to gain more knowledge in understanding their behavior. As she grew up she, sadly, learned of the underground dog fighting realm. In the bay area it has become a big problem and she soon began rescuing, rehabilitating and trying to re-home pitbulls once trained for fighting. By 18 years old she was in school full time, working full time and training pitbulls every chance she could. She then attended UC Davis where she gained her Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Biology. There she took many behavior classes and due to her background in training dogs was accepted as an intern to train horses at the UC Davis Horse Barn. She was in charge of training weanlings and foals in addition to pre-/post parturition care of mares. This strengthened her knowledge on animal behavior and veterinary medicine. The following year she was then hired on as Mare Manager - where she was in charge of training and guiding the new interns. After graduating from UC Davis an influx of family, friends and strangers began seeking her help as they noticed behavioral problems in their canines. With their support and guidance, she than began her business - Your Ideal Dog. Specializing in aggressive, nervous behaviors her goal is to help all those in need no matter their background, breed, or problems.
